Our Story
Eco Living began in 2010 when three friends – an environmental scientist, a regenerative farmer, and a renewable energy engineer – came together with a shared vision. Jennifer Hayes, Marcus Chen, and Olivia Rodriguez had spent years working in their respective fields, witnessing firsthand the challenges of environmental degradation, industrial agriculture, and fossil fuel dependence.
What started as weekend workshops on Jennifer's small family farm quickly grew into something much bigger. The trio realized that by combining their expertise, they could create integrated solutions that addressed multiple sustainability challenges simultaneously. They pooled their savings to purchase a 50-acre abandoned farm in disrepair – what would become Eco Living's demonstration site and headquarters.
The early years were challenging. With limited resources, the team lived in refurbished shipping containers on-site while they restored the land using regenerative techniques. They installed their first solar array using reclaimed panels, built composting systems from salvaged materials, and began the slow process of rebuilding soil health through cover cropping and holistic management.
A turning point came in 2014 when a severe drought hit the region. While neighboring conventional farms struggled, Eco Living's demonstration site remained relatively productive due to improved soil water retention, diverse cropping systems, and efficient irrigation. This caught the attention of local media and farmers, leading to their first major consulting contracts.
Since then, Eco Living has grown into an internationally recognized organization with projects across five continents. We've expanded our team to include experts in permaculture design, climate-resilient architecture, water management, and community development. While our scope has grown, our core mission remains the same: creating integrated solutions for people and planet that work in harmony with natural systems.
